From our oven to your table — More Chiney brings time-honored baking, thoughtfully sourced groceries, and the warmth of a neighborhood staple to every corner of Astoria.
More Chiney began as a modest bakery on Newtown Avenue — a place where the smell of rising dough drew neighbors in from the street. Over the years, we grew into a full grocery, but our philosophy never changed: every item on our shelves should be something we'd serve our own families.
We bake in small batches, source from regional mills and importers, and believe that a well-made loaf of bread or a properly stocked pantry is the foundation of a good home. That's the standard we've kept for over a decade.
Artisan breads, everyday groceries, and imported staples — each chosen for quality and crafted with care.
Sourdough, ciabatta, focaccia, and traditional rounds — baked fresh each morning using slow-fermented doughs.
Daily Bake
Flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, and seasonal tarts — crafted by hand using French techniques and the finest butter.
Handcrafted
Olive oils, vinegars, grains, spices, and imported provisions — pantry essentials sourced for flavor and integrity.
Curated Selection
More Chiney has been part of the Astoria fabric for years — here's what the people who shop here regularly have to share.
Their sourdough is the best I've found in Queens — proper crust, open crumb, and that tang that only comes from a real starter. I drive past three other bakeries to stop here.
More Chiney is my go-to for everything I need for Sunday dinner. The olive oils, the imported pastas, the fresh bread — it's all been consistently excellent for years.
There's a warmth to this place that you can't replicate. The staff remembers your name, the bread is always fresh, and the groceries are things you actually can't find at the chain stores.
We're located in the heart of Astoria, just a short walk from the N/W trains. Stop by for fresh bread or a full pantry restock.
